(not the usual Toxic Avenger / Nuke ’Em High picks)

- Combat Shock (1986) –
A grimy, bleak Vietnam vet horror-drama that feels closer to Eraserhead than a Troma splatter flick. Super raw, unforgettable. - Terror Firmer (1999) –
A chaotic, meta-satire on low-budget filmmaking, with all the sex, gore, and absurdity you expect, but also a surprisingly heartfelt backbone. - Beware! Children at Play (1989) –
Infamous for its outrageous ending. A rural horror story about possessed kids — pure grindhouse energy. - Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2006) –
Troma’s musical horror-comedy masterpiece. It’s political, gross, and genuinely catchy. A cult gem in the making. - Mother’s Day (1980) –
Early Troma-distributed slasher, sleazy and disturbing, but with a twisted sense of humor. Quentin Tarantino has praised this one. - Tromeo & Juliet (1996) –
James Gunn’s (Guardians of the Galaxy) breakout — Shakespeare reimagined with incest, mutations, and rock ’n’ roll. - Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. (1990) –
A bizarre superhero spoof where a New York cop gains kabuki powers. Pure Troma camp. - Rabid Grannies (1988) –
Belgian horror-comedy where sweet old ladies turn into cannibal demons at a birthday party. Wild practical effects. - The Toxic Avenger Part II (1989) –
Overshadowed by the original, but this sequel’s globe-trotting ridiculousness is underrated. - Redneck Zombies (1987) –
Shot on VHS, ultra-campy splatterfest. It’s DIY horror at its most Troma-esque — cheap, trashy, but oddly charming.
